Small Block Ford Crate.......Think I Found One!
Well, I did contact Engine Factory here in NJ and spoke with them about a ford crate and got some pretty good prices and they seemed very knowledgeable on the phone, actually took the time to talk with me and explain things.
Since then, I've still been looking for a comparison to judge the power and value of Engine Factory, and I think I found a good one yesterday.
While searching the internet, I came across "D&J Machine & Performance Engines" out of Pheonix Arizona.
I searched Ebay by chance to see if they ever sold anything there, and I found that they had 109 positive feedbacks and 0 negative feedbacks, yes I know this is not a "true" scale of judging a company so I did carry on for more information.
I contacted the local BBB to see if there were ever any complaints or problems with them, and there were none on record.
So.......this prompted me to give them a call and see what they were about. I spoke to Darl on the phone, and within the first few minutes of talking, I knew this guy was a true professional and a very honest person.
We went over a couple setups that he could do and they all sounded very very nice. Darl made some suggestions to me about engines and setting it up with me. He does the engine building himself there in the shop.
Well, I think I am pretty much tuned in on a setup that he can do for $4,195 with "free" crating and shipping included in the price.
It is a "turnkey" 351w with 350hp all the bells and whistles of a turnkey including starter, pulleys, alternator, 650 holley, distributor, coil, manual flywheel, etc, etc.
He estimates 3 weeks to build her and 1 week to ship her to New Jersey.
By the very slimest chance, has anyone dealt with them before?
If not, anyone have any thoughts here on value, performance, bang for the buck, etc?
Any comments or thoughts are gladly welcome fellows, please!
