hey ken
i know with the gears in my car that its going to go as fast as it can by the 1/2 mile marker. another 1/2 mile would not serve any useful purpose other than to put more wear and tear on the engine. if they would allow us to race in vintage and time us at 1/4 and 1/2 mile and then we slow down i'd be more interested. i think most of the cobras don't have enough gears to make a difference in going the full mile. i still think that you went about as fast at the 1/2 mile marker as you did at the mile marker. the only racer that seemed to gain speed after the 1/2 mile mark was that red jap bike that kicked in his nos after he crossed the 1/2 mile marker. while i was there he might have been the only one to reach 200mph. anyway, lets see if any of our loud mouthed big horse power guys step to the plate.
