One other thought based upon my research on 60's muscle cars, a lot of hot-rod-oriented dealers of all makes were into swapping engines to boost sales. This all happened with the whatever manufacturer winking and covering the warranty. Thus, the answer may be rather elusive depending upon how you pose the question.
