Snakebitt may be right about changes between the 67 and 68 model year cars. I ordered a new 67 Mustang through the factory in the spring of 67. I couldn't get the 289 HO (so I was told), so setteled on the 289/220HP 4V engine. Not long after, I started a cam change and saw "302" cast in the lifter galley. I wonder how many other 67 (67 1/2 ?) cars of whatever model came with 68 components that are considered "not model year" stuff?
