Thanks for the info. The 911 has a 3.0 engine recently dyno'd with 230 HP to the wheels. His car conforms to Porche club rules and he did take 2nd in class.
I have been a NASA member for 3 years and run in HPDE 4 in AZ. We are blessed because there is a lot of sunshine with extended opportunities for track time. There are two other clubs here, ProAutoSports (www.proautosports.com) and Arizona Sports Racing Assoc. (www.azsportsracing.org) that run similar events on the four local tracks in the Phoenix area. Within 300 miles, there are 4 more tracks; 2 in Las Vegas and 2 in NM.

I highly recommend learning to drive your car on the track. It is great fun and will teach you how to become a better driver. A couple of months ago, I set up a track day at Firebird Raceway for the Cobra Club. Many were first timers to the track, but everyone had a real blast! Mine is the red one.
