Default New Sealant on Connecticut Roads

Hey Guys:
Just a heads-up. The great state of Connecticut has found a new use for the massive amounts of tax dollars it collects from us every year. The DOT is using a new road crack sealant. This new stuff is all over Route 8 (especially below Waterbury), parts of 95, parts of the Merritt and all over the state maintained roads in West Haven.

The problem with it is, it never cures and it would rather stick to rubber than asphalt. I have spoken to the state about the problem, but they are not too concerned. If you're noticing lots of black goo on the fenders of your pride and joy lately it is probably this new (and improved) cold seal! You can see it on the roads as it tends to leave a trail as the vehicle tires pick it up and redistribute it.

If you agree with me that your snake is being damaged by this junk, call the state DOT and express your concern. Tell them you want to know where to go to get money for the new paint job they owe you (they do supply this information).
