Go to some shows and ask the owners about the cars. Go for test rides if they will let you.
The best way to pick out YOUR car is to look at as many as you can BEFORE you spend your money. Check out how hard they are to put together, how well the frames and body hold up over time, what problems come up, how does it ride, how well do the brakes work and on and on.
