I have a Kirkham, and I have to believe the Shelby suspension would be the same. I see three posibilities: 1, the Heim joint(rod end) outer bearing has departed, leaving the rod end loose in the joint housing. 2, the spacers on either side of the rod end are missing, or 3, the bolt that goes through the rod end that attaches it to the frame is loose in the frame attach points. Those look much larger than the diameter of the bolt, suggesting that there may be bushings inside the attach points that, if missing or worn, would allow for much slop. You didn't say if it was the front or rear attach point. I am assuming its the front. Can you give more detail, or better yet, some pics?
BTW, do you know Dr Jim Taylor of Valpo?
