Wound up in a movie
I rolled out of bed early Sunday morning and hopped in the Cobra to go to work a few hours before church. I noticed someone was following me and they must have had to really drive hard to catch up to me like that. When I got to the shop, the gentleman introduced himself and asked if I'd let my car be in a movie they were filming that morning. They're filming a movie about a small town sherriff and had to do a street racing scene. They had arranged to have the police in Jefferson Ga. close down a couple of miles of Hwy 137(?) that morning untill noon. The owner of one of the cars had backed out at the last minute and there they were with everything in place and the road about to be closed for them. It was a stroke of luck when they saw me driving by and I agreed to help.
There was an actor who sat in my car for some scenes and I had to wear his shirt and do some driving scenes myself. There were a few takes of doing a stoplight dragrace while trying to do a nice burnout at launch and going about a half mile down the road at speed. There was also a high speed pass by the camera.
You can't imagine what it's like to drive like that on a public road with officers around!
They put a prop NY tag on my car that read "BAD AZZ" but I forgot to take it off and drove home with it, boy did I feel silly.
The movie will be called Dixie County Line and will be first released as a 30 min. film to attract backing to hopefully make it full length. It will be a few months or so, hopefully I can post some pics from it.
