Hi Steve,

The DMV told me that my SPF was illegally manufactured, since there was no separation between the purchase of the "kit" and labor to assemble it (aka: it was purchased turnkey, even though I provided the drive train to the assembler). The DMV also told me that I would be receiving a full written explanation of the details, however since then the CA State AG's office has gotten the DMV to agree that my SPF was not built for resale, therefore no letter has been sent (to my knowledge) or received. In addition, since the DMV doesn't consider my SPF as a Specially Constructed Vehicle either, the status of my SPF's title is in limbo. Regardless whether my title is in limbo or flat out denied, I can't drive it, and so I've chosen to sell it and hope to purchase another.
