It may not be a big deal to you. My guess is it is to some.
Selling cars does require some credibilty. If you are selling your own car or a friend's car it is one thing.
When you are selling full time but want to pretend you are something other than what you are, then it is a matter of credibilty.
I sell cars for a living. When someone asks me what I do for a living, guess what? I tell them I sell cars.
If I told them I was a Copier repairman, and it turned out I was not, one has to wonder what else I did not tell you about myself or the car truthfully.
