Default Not what I thought it was....

So I just bought my block a while ago from a fellow who said it came from an 86 Crown Vic.

Well, that may have been true, but I only just checked the casting number on the block (I know, I know, should have done it before, but it was so dirty that I couldn't see it, and only just got around to grinding it clean), and the casting number is D4AE!! A D4AE isn't native to an 86 Crown Vic, is it? Surely there was a later 351W casting that would have been in an 86 Vic....an E3AE or something?

So I grabbed a rod, and it says D6OE. Has this thing has been rebuilt already? Did D6OE rods come in a D4AE block from the factory?

Is that going to cause me any problems?? Edit: it was just 69-70 blocks that had the shorter deck height, right? 74 is still 9.503"?

Thanks
Dan
