If you're not building a race engine, they'll probably work just fine after a good reconditioning. I just wouldn't try to turn 6500 rpm with them for more than a few seconds at a time. I'm putting reconditioned 390 rods in my 428, and I'm hoping to make about 475 hp. But its going to be a street motor and won't see those kind of rpms very often, and certainly not for more than a few seconds at a time. I guess it just depends on what the intended use is going to be.
