Sorry didnt reply straight away as I had gone to bed, time difference you know.

The spring I have is lilac in colour and it feels very stiff compared to a standard spring out of a short block pump ( I cant use this one as it is shorter). The lbox states high volume high pressure, so I guess another 20 to 30% over standard. My worry is big block style high volume and high pressure in a small block.

It seems that it is relatively easy to obtain an upgrade but not to get hold of a standard. Unfortunately unlike some other manufacturers there was no standard spring in the box as an option.

The reason I had to go the big block pump was down to the pickup distance from the pan. I normaly choose melling or Moroso parts, but with the Mowtown Block I couldnt get the distance from pan to pickup right. Milodon stated these two parts with the kicked out sump I have and it does give the right clearance, but with its own nightmares.

You would not believe what effort I have gone through to try and find a spring - the chap at Milodon even suggested I cut a bit off the end ??????

Any sort of help I would be grateful of.

Mike
