The problem with the 427w is with wear and longevity. Alot of the people who claim to have no problems, have these in a car that will probaby never see more then 20K miles and is driven once every 2 or 3 months, or is still a low mileage motor. Your not going to see problems at first with any stroker motor. Given two motors with same mileage a 408 is going to show less wear then the 427. As one person said the rod ratio is horrible in a 427 not to mention the oil rings are usually in the wrist pin. The only way your not going to have it in the wrist pin is moving the top ring less then .200 clearance from the top of the piston or running a shorter rod. Either way you have a problem, just pick your poison.
