Estimating Quarter Mile times. (Bench Racing)
i have been having trouble estimating my quarter mile time's and was hoping that you guys might be able to help me out. Every formula that I have puts it in the high 9's which can't be right but I would like to get a estimate of what it might possibly do with the way it is setup.
Currently it weights ~2400 pounds with driver and extra cage bracing. this is a general estimate on the car it could be off by ~75 pounds in one direction or the other direction. I only have the weight of the car when it had a 454 in it so I am extrapolating.
On full boost I am good for ~525-550 hp depending on the air and the carb tuning, rear end is a quick change so assume that I could get perfect gearing. rear end will take up to a 14 inch slick, (I have ~6 of them mounted in the garage) and hold the power quite nicely. Power goes through a T-10 4 speed.
Getting the power to the ground is going to be a challange, I know for a fact when the car had the larger pully it ran ~125 in the quarter without abusing the tires or clutch, simply driving off the line at idle and then reving it up so what do you guys think it will do. I am guessing ~10.7-11.1 but I don't have the skills to drive that fast or the safty equipment so it is all relative.
