Default Problem with MSD Pro-Billet Dizzy

Just wondering if anyone has encountered the same problem as me with their MSD pro-billet dizzy in their Oz clevo's.

My advance weights are sticking. I have correctly diagnosed it as the rotating action of the distributor (because of the helical cut on the drive gear) pulling down the distributor shaft and causing the plates to seize.

Someone on another forum suggested I might need to shim the gap between the gear and the oil pump, because apparantly the base of the gear needs to rest on here and not float above it. Can any of you guys confirm that?

If I did that I'm not sure how I would stop the shims falling off the dizzy shaft into the block when I re-inserted the dizzy but also not sure if this would fix the problem.

With the design of the MSD dizzy I can't see any other way around the problem.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm out of ideas.
