Not sure what you set up is, but I have the 514 with the Holley 1050 carb. No choke on the carb, so when it is cold I pump the gas 1 time, then keep it running with a little gas till it warms up. When it is warm I push on the gas about an 1/8 of the way right when it cranks. When it sits for an hour or so, still push on the gas a little. My timming is as mentioned above, 32 at 3000 rpm, and it is about 14 at idle ( 1050 rpms).
