Somewhere in another thread someone suggested that if you're a first time builder with little auto background/knowledge and are going to be undertaking most of the build yourself, it is best to stick with the parts that the kit is provided/built for so you can get a bit of knowledge behind you before you tackle anything more difficult. Sound advice I'm sure, but are there any "downsides" to the Classic Revival kit that can't really be ignored from a performance point of view? Or is that sort of thing more down to personal preference?
