When you take your car to be inspected by the Washington state Patrol they will ask you for your MSO (kit car) "Manufacturers statement of Origin, your title, engine, & transmission receipts along with the receipt for the kit (or roller depending which way you go) itself. Make sure you save every receipt. Mine (a Street Beast ) is registered as a 2004, 1966 Cobra. Also if your MSO number is not long enough WSP will assign you a number and rivet one plate under the hood somewhere and another to the interior of the car. This is for vehicle recovery in the event it is stolen. In upper Snohomish County we don't need the cars to be smog tested which is nice. If you live where it's required you will have other hoops to jump through. If you do the kit thing save every receipt because when you attempt to license it, Wa. will assess a sales tax based on those receipts and depending on where you go and how smart the individual is behind the counter you could pay 8.8% on the sum of what has not already been paid when your purchased yyour parts. I purchased everything less wheel and tires out of state and @ $42,000 + I could have been looking at $3000.00+ in sales tax. Send me a PM when your getting ready for all this as I can direct you to an outstanding individual in the D.O.L. that understands kit cars and replicas
