All states have methods to register your car and without going to a title washing service.
JUST REMEMBER, states are after MONEY, they could give a (*&%&* about the car, just CAN WE COLLECT the MAXIMUM $$$$ from this transaction.
Whether, "specialty built rules", "collectible/antique", "correct year/engine rule", and so on apply, you register the car, if you build it, very simple, NO JAIL TIME.
