Factory prepared 68 GT 500 drag racer. Interesting but without documentation and a lot of it, including invoices, buildsheets and historical footnotes it is going to come under some scrutiny. I haven't looked the car up in the Registry but that doesn't mean the car wasn't optioned out as described. If the cars has 9500 miles did they come 1/4 at a time ? If it did, 9500 is not a low mileage race car in my mind but then again, I am not a racer. If it was built for Show and not Go, you may have something pretty valuable but like all things, price is based on condition. GT -500's are not as rare as GT-500 KR's with the KR's being a mid-year entry and the 428CJ motor. Carroll will tell you that there is not one bit of difference between the two cars but it depends on when and where you asked the question (If you know what I mean). If it is "As Stated" it would not be unheard of the car fetching somewhere is the mid 6 figure range. It sure in the hell is worth more than one of them "Eleanor Cars" being pumped up as the "Real Deal" but that is a totally different issues. Anyhow check with SAAC and the 68 Register who probably can help a lot in etsablishing the history of 1571.
