according to the 87 SAAC registry, this car is listed as unknown. But it is a GT500, not a "KR" due to the fact that an "S" is the 5th digit in the VIN. Thus in a Shelby indicates a 428 PI engine. (In regular Mustangs it indicates 390 4V) A "KR" would have an "R" indicating the Cobra Jet engine. Mr. Mustang is quite correct in the fact that the "KR" does bring more money that a Standard GT500. 3 years ago they brought $5 Grand more on average. Today I do not think it will make much difference. They are all heading out of reach of the Common man Value wise. what is 5 Grand when the car is $300 Grand for starters?? What I am curious about is The alleged "Factory prepared Drag Racer" Classification. I have never seen or heard of a SHELBY in 1968 being campaigned by Ford or a Ford Dealer. They were into Campaigning the COBRA JET MUSTANGS at that time. Maybe someone knows more than me on this topic??
