Actually, Roadsters DO have tops. The classic definition of a roadster versus a convertible is that roadsters have side curtains and convertibles have roll up windows (without door framing, a Cabriolet is a convertible w/coupe doors...framing). If it was never designed to have a top it would fall in another category all together.... if it is without a top it is just a topless roadster. This is the generally accepted definition that has been in the rodding/antique car community for about ever. All original Cobras are roadsters and had tops available (or included) with side curtains.
