I don't know if this will help or not, but I do know that Emerson Motorsports here has did some modifications in the past to CR cars to put in wider seats. Not quite sure just what he did, but the guys that had it done like them, so it can be done. I think he widened them about 2 or three inches. One of the guys has a really bad hip and leg so he needed to be able to get in and out easier. If no one else has an option, you might contact Bill E. here on the club and ask him.
I really don't care for bench seats in a Cobra !
