I don't have Smith's gauges but mine doesn't fog up at all. I had mine out the other evening. It was 34 degrees and I ran it until I got all the
oil and water up to temp then put it back in the garage as I was just to cold. It seems if the tach does it and that is normal for your gauges, the rest would also do it.
