Don: my goodness.... I've been to Hagerstown NUMEROUS times when I was a kid. I was born in Richmond in Dec., 1949 and lived there until I graduated Richmond Sr. High in 1968!! Then I moved to Kankakee, Illinois where my dad had moved to a few years earlier. I joined the Navy in September of 1968 and requested that I be sent to San Diego. Been here pretty much ever since then (with one year spent in Illinois when I retired from the Navy in 1974 - medical). Do you remember when Richmond "exploded" back in March of 1968 and over 40 people were killed?? (several of them I knew and were friends of mine). I was working in my Foster Parent's Garden Center store only 1/2 a block from the Sporting Goods Store that blew up and caused the gas main that ran down and under Main Street to rupture and explode as well!! I was interviewed on several TV stations that day (most from Indianapolis). My wife is from Coronado and that's WHY I still live in this area (and because we own a nice home too). SMALL WORLD, isn't it.... fellow HOOSIER!!
