Default Finally got engine in the car. What's next? Replace the clutch!!!

Doh. Others may have know this, but I didn't. I wanted to use a 12in diaphram pressure on my Shelby engine with a TKO600. Naturally, I assumed it would be the FE (427) pressure plate as did the supplier. What I didn't know was McCleod makes two 12in pressure plates for the FEs, one for big output (427)and one for small output shaft (390) toploaders. If you are using a slave and normal TO bearing and the Tremec transmission, you need the small output version. The face of any TO bearing will be too small for the fingers of 427 pressure plate. I would tell you not to ask me how I know this, but you have probably already figured it out.

p.s. I don't know if this is a problem for those using the hydraulic TO bearing.
