Whoaaa
What a great day.
Our site at the All Ford Day, had over 25 Cobras on display.
It was good to see so many people out and about.
The Melbourne guys caught up with me on the side of the Geelong Highway.
We then had a Bacon and Egg breakfast at the BP servo prior to heading onto the All Ford Display...
Good sitting there having breakfast and watching the passing parade of Ford vehicles heading down the highway to Geelong.
The site at the All Ford Day allowed about 20 cars, but we double parked and more came onto the site. A few new faces and Cobras there on the site which was good.
Tony was able to talk to a few potential members and builders during the day with our site being one of the more frequently visited.
Mid afternoon saw us head off in no orderly fashion - two and three at a time.
I was one of the last to leave but parked on the side of the road and watched the crowd encourage everyone who left - to spin the wheels.
The new GT utes and sedans can certainly get those wheels spinning with more rubber left on the roads than at the local drag strip. A nice little '32 Ford highboy Street Rod showed the crowd that it was go as well as show.
We took off, as I thought it would not be long before the organisers rang the Police. The crowd had more video cameras going and cameras flashing than I had ever seen. Well must be the hoon in me...
After a coffee and cake at McDonald's on the highway to Melbourne, I left Bryan, Doug Pierce, Deb, Frank and Rob Hamilton to head home.
Todd and I took a short drive around Geelong and down to the F1 race boats at the foreshore to see what they were up to. Nothing like watching a 40' race boat skim across the water to round the day off.
Well its back to South Australia this morning. Weather looks good.
Again, a great day at the All Ford Day. A good one to keep in mind next year.
Cheers,
Bernie
