There's no detail because the kickdown method changed over the years. You would need the specifically designed rods for your application, all of which is moot information if you have a cable.

I have a Lokar cable. I had to have a bracket made up and mounted ahead of the carb throttle linkage which allowed the cable to activate the kickdown lever. The cable goes forward from the carb to the bracket and then back towards the firewall.

I'd call Lokar, I'm sure they could walk you through what needs to be done.
