C4 Crossfire,

From a cost standpoint, most IRS setups cost a little more, from a dragracing standpoint if the "proper items are used" they are very close unless you are beyond 9.9" wide slicks. IRS axles can easily handle 850 plus HP if the proper design is utilized.

Open road events, if set up right they are so close, too close for a novice driver to get any great advantage out of.

From street driving , the IRS is a bit smoother over the live axle, shocks and springs being the critical issue.

Bear in mind, none of the above are worth a tinker from any standpoint if the design and materials selected are wrong and off design.
