Now the block.
427 SIDEOILER NOS BLOCK
Recently some idiot decided to malign the block I have for sale, and the person who mentioned that it was for sale, and most importantly the person in whose custody this block is . George Anderson.

Many know me, but most importantly they know the reputation and the integrity of George. As promised a few days earlier I will share with everyone the details George prepared for someone who was interested in this block. See for yourself if there is any attempt on my part or his part to sell ANYTHING under false pretences.
Someone named Kevin inquired about the block, and I referred him to George and George told him everything about the block.

The block is not like buying one on EBay-It is not sight unseen-. It is sitting in Nebraska at one of the most reputable builders in the country. I for one resent the implication this idiot casts, as if WE are trying to pull the wool over someone's eyes.

If I wanted to do that, I wouldn't be (neither would George) be telling the prospective buyers the following details. Instead I would sell it on EBay to an unsuspecting buyer. Not to friends!

Ernie, you will one day realize you are not fit to be part of any group, not gasholes not even a$$holes.

So, kindly take your petty grudge match to places that does not effect me, and do not smear me or people who are near and dear to me.
OK?
Here is George Anderson's account of what this block is or isn't. If ineterested please contact George.

Regarding the engine block, what year is it? Is it in fact an NOS piece?
What charges have been incurred for machine work? What type of pistons have been ordered and what is the cost?

George
The 427 Side Oiler date code is 2M2 or December 2nd 1972

This was the tag on the block

The block was new when we received it...had never been ran or been assembled.

Typical of 427 Side Oiler blocks of this vintage this one has two main caps marked 4

The block had one main cap bolt hole that the threads were fretted likely from the way the factory installed that main cap. The threads have been repaired and are back in specification.

The block (although very rare to find in new condition) had some typical surface rust in the bores....the SELLER to Turk did put some cosmoline looking compound in the bores but when cleaned you can see the slight surface rust.

#1 cylinder had more than the other bores and a flaw I didn't like but could correct..perhaps a small pin hole and was in the typical ring travel area....

http://www.gessford.com/quotes/images/Turk-3586.JPG
this I didn't feel was acceptable for Turk's engine build and we obtained Turk's permission to correct this...we may well have been able to bore the block to 4.275 to correct it but rather opted to sleeve this hole to preserve the bore at 4.240" (.007" over the stock bore).
We removed the stock main Bolts and replaced them all with ARP Main Studs

The Rear Main cap was milled to our specification to allow for the use of a shorted ARP rear Stud that will allow the use of an Aviaid pan and Windage tray.

Turk's block was then align bore checked

The Stock Cross bolts were updated to ARP Bolts
http://www.gessford.com/quotes/images/Turk-3556.JPG
the Oiling Mods were completed.

The sleeve for hole number one looked like this when we bored the block to install it and my hunch was correct that it needed this simple sleeve to correct it.

Sleeve installed (we use Liquid Nitrogen)

we then proceed to order the custom Arias Forged Piston for the 4.240" bore and this was my order detail sheet for 9.99 (10:1) pistons using 82CC Iron MR Heads.
http://www.gessford.com/quotes/image...9232003no3.jpg
and did the final boring on our Sunnen CK10 Boring Machine utilizing a Deck Plate.
The block was also square decked to 10.155" as we do on all 427 Iron Blocks.

This would make a great block for any project. The work has been completed professionally and in keeping with how we build our motors. Turk was fortunate to find the block even though it took many of the typical corrections we see in this vintage of block...yes even brand new ones....as I've yet to see one that didn't need some TLC.....
I do hope this gives you the DETAIL you need to make an informed decision on the block and pistons. It would make a great block for a Cobra project engine. We would certainly be very happy to build the motor for you and stand behind it.

My Best, George
