The C indicates the block was made between 1960 - 1969. The 8 refers to the exact year, as you have already determined. The letter A refers to the block as a Ford product as opposed to a Falcon, Mustang, Cougar, Comet, Cyclone or Marine/Industrial use, etc., etc. 6015 is a basic part number assigned to many blocks to make them easier to locate in Ford Master Parts Catalog. Finally, the B indicates a revision part number, A being the first, B a subsequent revision.
