You mentioned resale value. Cubes sell. And really, you're talking a 1" total overall size difference between the packages, so that shouldn't really be a factor.

BUT (!) peak horsepower #'s are useless when choosing an engine. Ask the builder for a torque-curve graph and compare the engines based on the usable torque rather than the peak H.P. After all, you're not going to be driving around at xxx RPM & experience the peak H.P. very often. But you ARE going to be revving through a particular range quite regularly. That's where you want your torque.
