Run the trailing arms forward. There should be plenty of suitably solid points to mount them in the back bumper area of the chassis. Your only problem then might be fuel tank clearance. However the fuel tank can be more easily modified for clearance than your arse.

Les, from the look of that tubular arm setup there is still provision for attaching trailing arms.

One thing I like about the braced setup or the fabricated tubular arm is that it gives some suitable attachment point for a rear sway bar.
