30K is 'way early to have rear brake troubles. Sounds more like an adjuster or maybe a parking brake malfunction. Is possible to have gotten a stone but pretty unlikely. I usually get at least 100K out of the rears and usually even more since they don't really do much of your stopping. Good luck on finding something minimal. Hopefully it'll be something that can be fixed up with a little adjustment and some sand paper. Remember, big to the back, regarding the shoes. If there's one with a longer section of lining, it goes towards the rear bumper. Made the mistake once fourty years ago and have never forgotten.
