Hotter plugs by design are not any "Longer" and will not cause any interference. The internal "heat sink path" through the porcelin and into the plug seat is longer therby taking longer to disperse the heat, therefore it is a Hotter plug. Have you run the 59's yet? Get the car on the road befor you begin to 2nd guess your setup. As previously stated, the cold plugs are initially recomended to keep you out of "preignition danger". If you can get one, Champion makes an excellent pamphlet explaining theory on their racing plugs with several graphs and complete application and heat range guide.
