Default 408 windsor, engine master engine, 620HP@6600, $7500 obo

Some of you may remember me as the "Butcher", master of destructive part testing. I believe I was the first builder to complete a stage one JBL. Richard Hudgins can attest to my antics. While building my cobra I fell in love with engine building and decided to enter the Popular Hotrodding's Engine Master Challenge in 2004. I posted some of the story in this previous thread.

The engine I built for the competition is now for sale. This mill has seen 4 days of dyno time or approximately 120 pulls. The newer pistons and rings have seen roughly 20 pulls only. The engine has never been in a car and is completely dialed in due to the excellent testing provided by Westech Dyno in Mira Loma Caliofornia.

The engine is a 351 windsor with a 4.03" bore and a 4" stroke, making it 408ci. Compression is 11.2:1 and we found no detonation in the power range of timing with 92 octane. I believe 91 would be similar as there were no signs of knock with the 92. Originally the engine started as 13.2:1 and yes, there was detonation.

Every component in the engine is top quality. I have 20k-25k invested in the components. I'm sure I have over 4k in the heads alone. Here is an example of the dyno numbers pulled at Westech. How does TQ 552.8@5200rpm grab you for some fine stump pulling? And 620HP@6600.

Most cobra owners have 400HP crate engines. A lot of owners think they have 500HP, but then go to the dyno and get a taste of the lie detector and find out that 500 is not that easy to achieve. And then there are a rare handful of cobra owners with 600HP. Here is your chance to have a true 600HP+ engine with the power band made for the street, 2500rpm to 6500rpm.

There are two small thngs wrong with the engine currently...the Jeg's valve cover got cracked during shipping to NY and needs to be repaired or replaced. This valve cover is actually infamous and there is a picture of it in the PHR engine master write up month. lol. I would also suggest changing the Fidanza flywheel out for a McLeod or similar unit. The fidanza seems to have the teeth slightly offset and we burnt starter after starter at the dyno trying to engage them.
