I used a Scotts 16", and it has its own shroud. But you don't want to use the supplied nylon through-the-radiator ties to mount the fan. Puts holes in rad. Use a fan mount bracket, parts store variety (Pep boys, Trak, etc.), and make brackets to mount to rad frame.
Ron Francis (wire-works.com) has fan control sensor and relay kit. Sensor mounts in intake manifold, just above water outlet in head. Works very well. Fan on at 205*, fan off at 180*. With a 180* thermostat, fan should never come on while highway driving.
