Default NorCal SAAC Meeting - Fri, May 13th...

Hi All,

I know that many of you will be preparing for Tour de Vin, however for those interested and available, Friday night is the NorCal SAAC Monthly meeting in Santa Clara.

Presenting this month is a local "DMV Representative" to discuss issues that are of interest to the NorCal SAAC. When I learned of this, my interest was peaked, however I've been "cautioned" that:

1. We don't want to scare off this local DMV rep. This rep is doing this on a volunteer basis, out of the "goodness" of his/her heart. This is an opportunity to bridge gaps, not create them

2. NorCal SAAC expects a "standing room only" attendence.

What I don't expect is any new information, to be honest with you, that we on Club Cobra don't already know. I don't expect this DMV rep to be prepared to speak about SB953 or how the DMV might implement it.

With that said, the "Car Show" portion of the meeting starts at 7:30PM, followed by the meeting at 8PM, followed by "no host" pizza at a local parlor. Given the expected high attendance, I plan on arriving early (also, I've never attended a Nor Cal SAAC Monthly meeting, so I'm not 100% sure what to expect).

Here's a link to the NorCal SAAC home page, then follow the link to the Monthly meeting. There you will find location and other logistical information.

Regards,
Randy R...

BTW, here's the email that I received after I made contact with one of the organizations about "posting this on the BACC Forum":

Thanks for the note and interest in involving BACC.

This is proving to be a very popular meeting, and my only concern is that we could literally run out of room--a good problem to have! I'll leave you to make the call, but we may have 50-75, and the room won't comfortably accomodate too many more.

Of course, we can also have an SRO crowd, if that's ok with late-comers. Be sure to let folks know about the parking lot car show that starts ~7:30. We'd love to see more Cobra's, real and replica.

So, feel free to invite BACC'ers with the caveat that they may end up getting "close and personal" with NorCal SAAC members :-)

Oh, and don't forget to mention pizza afterwards at Sierra Sam's on El Camino near Fair Oaks in Sunnyvale.
