3.31 rear gear (Jag IRS) with a CLOSE ratio top loader. First gear on a close ratio is quite high compared to a wide ratio.
Close Ratio: 2.32,1.69.1.29.1.0
Wide Ratio: 2.78,1.93,1.36,1.0
So first gear shift point is around 60 mph. That TALL gear is a good thing as far as traction goes. Tires? The BIG Letter Goodyears, there pretty sticky compared to a lot of others. Fiday night at the track is "practice night", they don't use any resin on the track and traction WAS a serious problem.
I got just a little bit sideways when I nailed 2nd and pulled away from that Camaro.
