Default Fact, Fate...

...or coincidence? I was about to say what an interesting auction this is becoming! But I think Mrmustang just beat me to the punch here...

The bidding just gets more and more curious? First appears recent bidder, hfe1967.

hfe1967 changed his user ID just today (5/27)?

His old Ebay user ID was jeffrey0005 and had been so since 9/24/03

It was certainly a gracious gesture to have made the ID change because jeffrey0005 did not want jeffkmp's fellow Club Cobra members to think jeffkmp might be shilling his auction because both names are/were similar.

And we have a new high bidder 'asf1968.' He joined Ebay the same day (5/17/05) as earlier $80K bidder 'gasgooil.'

gasgooil has no previous bidding history.

jeff0005/hfe1967 has no previous bidding history.

asf1968's miniscule bidding history shows his only previous Ebay activity was a max bid of $70 on a golf club that sold for $132.50.

Overall, there is a phethora of low mileage ebay members jumping on the high end of this $82K+ bandwagon?

Further, it is notable that gasgooil's proxy bid which later maxed out at $80K was originally placed on May-25-05 at 05:49:12 PDT. Three minutes after jeffkmp's 05-25-2005 at 05:46 AM post stating, "i am sure it will go for more than 90k so i am not worried..."

Speaking strictly as someone who spends A LOT of time on Ebay, I've seen a lot of strange things happen. In light of the bidding on the Kirkham car that ended three days ago, his auction is right up there with the strangest.

Whatever, it's a great car and I certainly wish the seller luck in reaching an auction conclusion satisfactory to all.

Regards,
Doug
