If you are having carb problems you may want to talk to Don Gould (cuda66273 here) and get a carb and the proper pump all at once. The Edelbrock are OK for stock and slightly warmed over engine. They also have a tendency to develop a crack in the bowl and leak. This will also cause a hard starting problem if you had a mechanical pump as you have to crank the engine to fill the bowl back up. Not as big a deal with the electric fuel pump. They may have the cracking fixed on the new carbs by now too.
