The reason I didn't try adjusting my pin to pull the door in closer is that the door and the body align perfectly flush already. If you draw it in tighter, the door is in to far and you can see this a mile away. It looks like the door doesn't fit. I'm kind of a hood/trunk/door "fit" snob. I hate it when the body panels don't fit flush with the other parts.
The tape is easy and cheap and instant. I don't mind if I have to do it 3 or 4 times a season. The real answer would be for the pin to be machined with a larger diameter to match the catch.
