Default Did all FE blocks have cast numbers?

I bought an FE sight unseen in Michigan....Trularin was kind enough to pick it up for me. It was in a '78 Ford F700 (not original engine -- had been transplanted) dump truck. It's got a 361 tag on the valve cover....the valve covers straddle the intake and head, so I know it's an FE...but Tru can't find a cast number anywhere on the block. He did say it had the vertical ribs on the block....so I guess it was a service block.

The valve covers have D7 (I think) cast numbers....so I take it this is a 77-78 engine.

Tru did find a mold number on the block....but he can't find the block cast number itself on the opposite side.

Did all blocks have cast numbers, or were some cast without them?
