Like everything else, how much it costs depends on what you parts you use, how knowledgeable about FE's the machine shop is, and how much you want to push it. How important is reliability? Do you want a streetable engine? The questions go on and on.

I'd call George at Gessford, and all the other FE experts whose websites appear in the advertisers section on this site. The big 3 are probably Gessford, Keith Craft, and Southern Automotive, in no particular order.
