It's generally difficult to get a torque wrench in the tight areas around headers.
What has always worked for me is a quality gasket (not asbestos) and a box end wrench of regular length (not long reach) torqued evenly by hand as snug as I can get them. Use anti-seize on aluminum heads for sure and it won't hurt on iron heads either.
After a few heat/cool cycles I redo them
and then check them maybe once a month.
BTW, Stage 8 makes locking header nuts which elimanate retorquing but I never felt the need to use them.
