How many RPMs are your turning? A stud girdle is good for high spring rate, long travel, high RPM use and unless you are turning in the 7500 or more range with something like a D221, I would look at putting your money into a few other areas.

the FR covers are baffled. I don't turn past 6300 RPMs and that is only at the end of the 1/4. The springs are stock from the Edelbrock RPM Performers. I do have a pretty decent sized hydraulic cam at

ADV DUR: INT 297, EXH 308
LIFT: INT 538, EXH 534
DURATION AT .50 DEGREES: INT 236, EXH 242 @ 108 centerline

but Edelbrock tells me that the springs can take that much lift with no problem.

BTW, I used to live in Farmington Hills before moving here. Still go back every November for deer season
