Don't give up on that Tunnel Port intake idea so quickly. I've had a 427 SO in my Cobra since 1994. I ran a Sidewinder dual-plane single 4-bbl. for about 6 years. I changed to a Tunnel Wedge single-plane 2x4 bbl. intake and have been running it for the past six years. I have no experience with a Tunnel Port set up, but here's my experience with the Tunnel Wedge.

The Tunnel Wedge did take some more tuning effort to get it dialed-in, but that was just minor adusting on the progressive linkage, some accelerator pump cam experimenting, and front-carb / rear-carb idle adjusting, and re-jetting. All that was a Saturday afternoon of driving, stopping, adjusting, etc. I had to do most of that stuff with the single 4-bbl. carb on the first intake!

I'm definitely not a tuning expert, I just keep fiddling with stuff until it works. I like the looks, driveability and power my setup provides. I'll probably never return to the single 4-bbl. system.
