We all went around the water box as we found it made no appreciable difference in traction. Maybe it depends on what kind of tire you run? Plus, we didn't want to risk damaging anything. One guy drove THROUGH the water box straight to the line, that was an interesting and entertaining "launch"! He burned all the way through 2nd as well.
